The Acts prove that:

St. Paul visited the Macedonian cities of Philippi, Thessaloníki, and Berea.
These cities retain the same Greek names since centuries ago.
These names verify the Greek identity of Macedonia.
St. Paul met in Thessaloniki and Berea Greek women and Greek men,
who believed in Christianity. The Slavs therefore with the maps of “Macedonia”
that exist in their schoolbooks and through the literature they produce about
Macedonia, are being deceptive, trying to convince everyone that there was no Greek
element in Macedonia.
St. Paul spoke and wrote the letters to the Thessalonians and Philippians in the
Greek language, thus verifying that the language of the Macedonians was Greek.

In the National Research Center in Athens there are 5,000 Macedonian inscriptions
and 11,000 names in Greek, which are published in various historical books.
We are challenging the Slavs to produce just one inscription in the so-called
“Macedonian” language.

The Slavs by falsifying the historical truth, verified by St. Paul, insult his memory.
They also refuse the undoubted truth that Alexander the Great was Hellene, thus
insulting the memory of Prophet Daniel who prophesized in Chapter 8, pr. 3, of the
Old Testament, that the Ram, meaning the King of the Medes (pr. 20) would be defeated
by the Goat of Aeges; in other word he would be defeated by the King of the Greeks
(pr. 21). In Chapter 1 of the Maccabees, Alexander the Great defeated Darius, the
Persian King.

Crowds of bystanders watched the first of the monuments gingerly lifted by cranes at the 2,500-year-old Parthenon.

Thousands of antiquities will be moved, mostly marble sculptures from the fifth and sixth centuries BC.

Greek officials hope the new site will boost the country's long campaign for the return of the Elgin Marbles.

The Elgin Marbles are a collection of sculptures that were removed from the Parthenon 200 years ago and are now part of a collection at the British Museum in London.

'Historic event'

Greek Culture Minister Michael Liapis told Reuters news agency: "It is the first time in 2,500 years the Parthenon marbles are moved.

"It's a historic event not just for Greece but the international community."

The antiquities - which are insured for 400m euros (£280m) - are being removed from the old museum next to the Parthenon.

Three giant cranes are expected to take six weeks to transfer the sculptures 400 metres (1,300ft) down the hill to a new ultra-modern museum, which is set to open next year.

UNESCO confirms that it is not involved in the “New 7 wonders of the world” campaign
In order to avoid any damaging confusion, UNESCO wishes to reaffirm that there is no link whatsoever between UNESCO’s World Heritage programme, which aims to protect world heritage, and the current campaign concerning “The New 7 Wonders of the World”.

This campaign was launched in 2000 as a private initiative by Bernard Weber, the idea being to encourage citizens around the world to select seven new wonders of the world by popular vote.

Although UNESCO was invited to support this project on several occasions, the Organizaton decided not to collaborate with Mr. Weber.

UNESCO’s objective and mandate is to assist countries in identifying, protecting and preserving World Heritage. Acknowledging the sentimental or emblematic value of sites and inscribing them on a new list is not enough. Scientific criteria must be defined, the quality of candidates evaluated, and legislative and management frameworks set up. The relevant authorities must also demonstrate commitment to these frameworks as well as to permanently monitoring the state of conservation of sites. The task is one of technical conservation and political persuasion. There is also a clear educational role with respect to the sites’ inherent value, the threats they face and what must be done to prevent their loss.

There is no comparison between Mr Weber’s mediatised campaign and the scientific and educational work resulting from the inscription of sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List*. The list of the “7 New Wonders of the World” will be the result of a private undertaking, reflecting only the opinions of those with access to the internet and not the entire world. This initiative cannot, in any significant and sustainable manner, contribute to the preservation of sites elected by this public.

In his first major policy address since taking office in May, Mr Fillon proposed strengthening parliament and reforming the voting system.

BRUSSELS -- The European Commission reaffirmed its position that “the decision on Kosovo should be made at the UN Security Council.”

“EU enlargement commissioner Olli Rehn has called for a clear, sustainable solution for the region, without any unnecessary delays,” Rehn’s spokeswoman Christina Nagy told the press.

She added that the EU supported the proposal by Martti Ahtisaari as a basis for a new UN resolution.

Asked to comment whether Olli Rehn regarded U.S. President George Bush’s recent statements as constructive with respect to the talks currently taking place in the UN Security Council, and whether it was a good way to confront Russia on the issue, Nagy said she believed “it would not be advisable for her to pass judgments on statements given by any agents involved in the issue who were to decide on it in the Council.”
